With a fixed brace, you can correct major errors. As the name suggests, it is attached to the teeth and you can not make adjustments or remove it on your own. A fixed brace consists of metal or transparent plates that are glued to the outside of the teeth. A metal frame is then attached to the plates with a steel wire or rubber band. It is the metal arch that causes the teeth to move.
